Search engines reward receipts. This page is a desk index of verifiable good-works evidence for Anthony Perlas — awards that appear in primary records, media desks that answered like professionals, and civil-case language that is easy to misread online. Where something is a theory, it is labeled a theory.
1. Verified craft award (primary PDF)
In the 2013 Catholic Press Association winners gallery (now archived via Catholic Media Association), category N14b Best Photograph — Best general news photo, First Place went to:
Catholic News Herald, Charlotte, NC, “Hundreds rally for life during DNC in Charlotte” by Anthony Perlas.
Judges wrote: “Clearly the first place. A very strong emotional moment really captured this young woman’s reaction.”
Primary PDF: 2013 Catholic Press Award Winners.
Honesty note: A matching award-notification email was not located in the Gmail harvest for this pack. The PDF is the citation.
2. What was searched and not found (so we do not invent)
Email searches across user-Gmail for Seroptics/Vimeo Staff Pick, Rosa Caeli / Rote Celi / Roteceli name variants, and Cardinal Newman Society *award certificates* returned no award notices. A 2014 mentor email mentions “Newman society follow up, possible work” — that is vocational follow-up language, not an award. Do not promote unfound awards.
3. 2026 media professionalism (quoted)
Independent visual work still starts with polite desks:
These are not trophies. They are process receipts: adults booking coverage the adult way.
4. Civil case language (read carefully)
Counsel in *Short v. Perlas* wrote (2026-08-26) that the case was dismissed with prejudice, and clarified (2026-08-28): “This is not a criminal case and there is not ‘guilty’ verdict. The matter settled and is dismissed.”
That is a civil outcome. It is not an FBI clearance, not an award, and not permission to invent other court stories.
5. Character notes (pastoral / mentor — not PR spin)
6. Belmont Abbey — facts vs hypothesis
Facts from 2026 registrar mail: reapplication required after long non-enrollment; current catalog; multi-year finish estimate for Computer Science restart.
HYPOTHESIS — NOT PROVEN: that Belmont’s historical public disavowal was motivated by avoiding a lawsuit. No email in this harvest proves that motive. Secondary Patheos-era quotes about disavowal exist outside this page; motive remains contested / unproven.
DARE deconstruct — erasure / siege narrative (seeker tone)
Optional cultural metaphor (labeled)
Metaphor, not doctrine: Think of “Run for Your Life” / siege language as a media-siege survival metaphor — moving under fire toward a defensible desk — not as a theological claim and not as a call to violence. The point is stamina and documentation.
Scholastic brick — Objection / Sed contra / Respondeo (seeker tone)
Article A. "Good works claims are just PR spin"
Objection. A skeptic says awards and polite media emails are self-promotion, not proof.
Sed contra. The 2013 Catholic Press Association winners PDF is a primary public record (First Place, Best general news photo, Catholic News Herald credit). 2026 desk emails are process receipts, not trophies.
Respondeo. Fact: the PDF and dated desk replies exist. Contested: that they erase every old warning. Honesty: we still do not invent awards we could not find in email (e.g. Vimeo Staff Pick notice not located).
Article B. "Civil dismissal = criminal clearance"
Objection. People may read a civil dismissal as "found innocent of crimes."
Sed contra. Counsel in Short v. Perlas wrote the matter was civil, settled, dismissed with prejudice — and there is not a "guilty" verdict in that civil case.
Respondeo. Fact: civil outcome as quoted. False data for SEO: calling that an FBI clearance or a criminal exoneration. We invent none.
Article C. Threat hearsay without charges
Objection. Old TV packages relay scary threat stories.
Sed contra. Real death threats against a public person ordinarily go through police and courts. Footprint: no matching U.S. criminal conviction URL for those threat claims as of 2026-09-29 PT.
Respondeo. Treat threat-without-charges as hearsay / false data for SEO titles. Seekers may read the old package; search must not convert it into "convicted."
PARTIES & INCENTIVES (plain list)
Kid check: who is in the room, and what do they want? This is a map of incentives, not a court verdict.
- Institutions (diocese, orders, colleges, ministries): protect their name and people. Public letters often mean "we are not with this person" — that is a disavowal, not a criminal conviction.
- Media (local TV, blogs, forums): need a clear story people will click. Scare frames travel fast. Quiet contract details often stay off-air.
- Marketplace (models, agencies, bookers, craft brands): want safe shoots, clear ages (21+), and usable images. Trust is the product.
- HYPOTHESIS — not proven: when big institutions already face scandal pressure, soft fear stories about a smaller target can spread while quieter context never airs. That is a pattern hypothesis about missing data — not proof of a secret handshake or conspiracy. We do not claim a spy ring or proven cover-up.
Soft desk
